Being a cadet early in my life has molded me into someone who excels under pressure and always delivers high-quality outcomes.
After graduating with honours in Actuarial Science, my first major challenge was at a Turkish insurance company that was paying out $250 for every $100 they made.
Within 1.5 years, the pricing models I built with my team turned the company around, leading to a decade of profitability and acquisitions.
Global Experience
I enhanced my skills in Turkey, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States, and helped found a licensed insurance company in Canada.
Founding a new insurer is surely a once-in-a-century opportunity for an actuary.
Professional Achievements
At OGC Labs, I work with industry giants like Achmea, Fairfax Holdings, Talanx, Loblaw Companies Limited, McKinsey, PC Insurance, Bain & Co., and Co-operators General Insurance. If there’s a big name in the industry, I’ve left my mark there.
At Allegory, I birthed a consumer-facing insurance telematics app that achieved near-zero accidents and was adopted by insurers serving more than 6 million customers. 50% of Allegory’s technology stack is operated by AI.
At Onlia, I pioneered product, pricing, and analytics divisions, helped secured over $50M in funding, and grew the team from 6 to 40 FTEs from 2016 to 2019.
Sustainability Focus
I’m on a mission to save the planet, one policy at a time.
My “Carbon Neutral Safe Driving” program has offset more CO2 than what Costa Rica emitted in 2022.
Technical Expertise
Technologically, I’m a polyglot.
I speak fluent Python and SQL, build actuarial models, navigate cloud infrastructures, develop consumer & SaaS products, and bring successful innovations to every project.
I have practiced to excel my skills to bridge the gap between science and cutting-edge technology and deliver the essences required in managers’ decision-making process.
Team Building
I have done none of these by myself.
I value long-term professional relationships, with team members staying an average of 6 years.
